The Coffee High Trojans traveled to Nashville to compete in the Berrien County High School track meet. The meet catered for some of the younger athletes to give them an opportunity to compete and to demonstrate their ability and growth.
Sophomore Amariyah Wallace earned two first places in the 400m dash in 1 minute and 11.11 seconds and in the 800m run with a time 2 minutes and 59.33 seconds. The Lady Trojan 4X100m Relay team of Zy’Mariah Burch, Adriyonna Sims, Ja’Niyah Cross, and Ella Edge posted a time of 54.86 seconds. Miss Iree Kennedy cleared 15 feet and 1.5 inches in the long jump. Sophomore Ambriel High claimed first place finishes in the discus with a throw of 74 feet and 9 inches and in the shot put with a 24 feet and 9 inches.
Zy’Mariah Burch earned a second place finish in 200m dash in 30.41 seconds. The Lady Trojan 4X200 meter relay team of Zy’Mariah Burch, Ni’Liya Simpson, Jaliah Wynn and Ella Edge ran 2 minutes and 2.18 seconds. Lady Trojan 4X400 meter relay team of Ti’Maya Warren, Amariyah Wallace, Jaliah Wynn and Ni’Laya Simpson ran a time of five minutes and 8.8 seconds to finish second. Niliya Simpson finished second with a personal record in the long jump clearing 13 feet and 4.5 inches. Ella Edge returned to action with a second place finish in the discus with a throw of 72 feet and 9 inches. Sophomore Madison Johnson made a 23 feet and 7 inch throw to finish second.
Freshman Adriyonna Sims finished the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.61 seconds for a third place finish. Ella Edge took third place in the 200m dash 31.02 seconds. Miliah Shelton cleared 19 feet and 4.25 inches in the shot put for her first meet.
The men’s 4X400m relay team of Jaden Penson, Dominic Knight, Kaden Alexander, and Amuni Manning won with a time of 4 minutes and 3.29 seconds.
Sophomore Morgan Hines cleared 5 feet and 4 inches in the high jump for a second place finish.
Sophomore Bobby Reynolds finished third in the 200m dash with a time of 24.27 seconds. Freshman Jaden Penson finished third in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 20.40 seconds. Freshman Dominic Knight earned a third place finish with a time of 1 minute and 2.5 seconds. The Trojan 4X100m Relay of Bobby Reynolds, Adam Rogers, Dewayne (DJ) Johnson, and Amauni Manning finished third with a time of 47.02 seconds. Dewayne Johnson threw the discus 80 feet and 11 inches.
The Coffee County Georgia Farm Bureau Athletes of the Berrien Home Quad Meet were Amariyah Wallace and Bobby Reynolds.
The Coffee Track & Field Unsung Heroes of the Week, with Smith & Goldberg Dentists sponsoring were Ella Edge for returning an injury and competing in four events and Amuani Manning.
The Relay Team of the Meet was the Trojan 4X400m team of Jaden Penson, Dominic Knight, Kaden Alexander, and Amuni Manning, which won with a time of 4 minutes and 3.29 seconds.. Relay Team of the Meet sponsor is the West Ward Street Church of God.
