Wednesday afternoon, a member of the Coffee County Dive Team recovered the body of a 21-year-old male who drowned in a pond near the east end of the 206 Connector.
The call came in shortly after 3:30 p.m. that a male was in trouble in the pond. Emergency personnel responded quickly. When they arrived, they learned that the victim had gone under the water and not re-surfaced.
The victim had been in the water with three friends. He stepped into a deep hole and could not get back to shore, according to sources. The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
