A Nicholls man lost his life early Sunday morning after he was struck by a train.
Authorities have not released any details regarding the incident. However, sources say that the victim, 31-year-old Aaron Gibson, was on the railroad tracks around 3 a.m. Sunday. He was resting on the railroad right of way close to the tracks. When he heard the train coming, he attempted to get out of the way but was struck.
Gibson lost his life as a result of the accident.
Officers from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident.
A crowd funding site has been set up on giveahand.com under Gibson’s name to assist with funeral expenses. Harrell’s Funeral Home of Douglas will be in charge of the arrangements.
