Wednesday morning, federal agents with the Department of Homeland Security executed two federal search warrants in Bacon County. However, no one is saying exactly to what those search warrants were related.
Homeland Security has not released any information. The Bacon County Sheriff’s Office released a statement on its Facebook page but it didn’t offer any details. The BCSO’s statement reads as follows:
“Early [Wednesday] morning, the Department of Homeland Security executed 2 federal search warrants in Bacon County in connection with an administrative investigation. There is no need to be alarmed, and there is no threat to the community. This was a federal operation and local law enforcement is not involved, nor were we notified before their arrival. We have shared what information we have at this time.”
In a story posted by WTOC, Bacon County Chairman Shane Taylor stated that the investigation had “nothing to do with the county administration.”
DouglasNow will update this story as more information is released.
