On June 3, 2026, officers with the Douglas Police Department responded to shots fired in the area of Unity Park.
Upon arrival, officers conducted an area search and began gathering information related to the incident. During the investigation, officers learned that an individual had arrived at the hospital with gunshot related injuries.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots and observing several individuals fleeing the scene.
The DPD’s Criminal Investigations Unit continues to follow up on leads. Officers are asking for the public’s assistance. Even the smallest piece of information could be valuable to investigators and help move this case forward.
