Mr. Hubert Anderson, age 87, of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday morning, June 26, 2026, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Anderson was born April 12, 1939, in Nicholls, Georgia, to the late Hawley Anderson and the late Pauline Williams Anderson. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served his country well. Following his military service, he was employed for many years with Reinforcement Steel, as well as ten years of dedicated service to Blue Cross Blue Shield. He and his first wife, Mrs. Betty Porter Anderson, shared more than forty years of marriage and raised a son prior to her passing in 2007. A few years after her passing, Mr. Anderson was blessed to find love and devotion a second time with Mrs. Sarah Carter Anderson, with whom he shared the remainder of his life. Mr. Anderson was a Christian man who loved the Lord deeply and found no greater joy than worshiping and praising his Savior, Jesus Christ, in faithful church attendance and music ministry. For many years he and Mrs. Sarah shared God’s word in song through out a great number of churches in the South Georgia area. His talent playing his twelve-string guitar will be remembered fondly by all who were blessed to be in worship with him. Along with his first wife and his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by two brothers: Willie Anderson and Edward Anderson; a sister, Imagene Anderson; and two stepsons: Tim Mills and Phillip Mills.
Mr. Anderson leaves behind his loving wife of 17 years, Sarah Carter Anderson of Nicholls, Georgia; a son, Kenneth Anderson (Angela) of West Point, Tennessee; four siblings: Vernon Anderson (Rose), Sid Anderson (Donna), Christine Sandridge (Ralph), and Ann Whittaker (Jerry), all of Melbourne, Florida; two grandsons: Scott Anderson (Brittany) of Durham, North Carolina; and Travis Anderson (Brittany) of Snellville, Georgia; five great-grandchildren; a stepson, Russell Mills; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
