A 40-year-old remains in the Coffee County Jail as a result of a June 23, 2026, traffic stop in the Oak Park community. Michael William Wade, 40, is still incarcerated after a deputy stopped his vehicle in an area known for significant drug activity.
A sheriff’s office report states that a deputy was patrolling the area near Maple Street and 1st Avenue when he saw a Chevrolet pickup leave a Maple Street home. The truck’s driver’s side brake light was out so the deputy stopped the truck.
There were four people inside the pickup, at least two of whom were known methamphetamine dealers, according to the report. Other officers arrived to assist with the investigation. During the stop, a deputy found a container that held suspected methamphetamine between the driver’s seat and center seat.
Wade was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. The others were not detained. Wade was transported to the Coffee County Jail. He was given a $5,500 property bond but he remains in jail.
