Mrs. Mollie Faye Hersey Anderson, age 84 of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 14, 2026, at Vista Park Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Anderson, a native of Coffee County, was born July 19, 1941, in Nicholls, Georgia, to the late Elmer Hersey and the late Edna Mae Carter Hersey. She was married to the late Tommy Edward Anderson for 62 years prior to his passing in 2022, and together they raised two wonderful sons. She made her career in retail sales for B. C. Moore’s Department Store where she was a salesclerk for many years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who found her greatest joy in time spent with her family. She loved to cook and was known for canning and putting up vegetables that she would later cook to feed her family and friends. She also enjoyed camping and fishing. She was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Oak Grove Community Church in the Bickley community. Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by three siblings: Latrell Clark, Ada Pearl Hersey Bagley and Ricky Hersey.
Mrs. Anderson leaves behind her two sons: Danny Ray Anderson and Carol Smith of Nicholls, Georgia, and Kenneth Edward Anderson of Douglas, Georgia; four grandchildren: Kayla Lynn Anderson of Nicholls Georgia, Rodney Blake Anderson and Kaitlan of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Kenneth Jeffery Anderson and Mellie of Cochran, Georgia, Tracy Lynn Anderson Foster and Josh of Nicholls, Georgia; five great-grandchildren: Jaykin Anderson, Ava Grace Courson, Walker Waters, Lura Elise Anderson, and Gavin Anderson; one brother, Elmer Buddy Hersey and Carol of Waycross, Georgia; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Mrs. Anderson’s family would like to express their deepest thanks to special friends Betty Dean, Connie Clements, Bridgette Powell and all the staff of Vista Park for the excellent care they provided to Mrs. Anderson during her stay.
A funeral service will be held to honor Mrs. Anderson’s life on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Womack officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Roxie Mae Cemetery. Her family will receive friends in the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
