From June 20th through June 24th, the Coffee Weightlifting Team competed in the 2026 USA Weightlifting National Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Coffee had 24 lifters in the competition. This was the largest team to date that Coffee has taken to the National Championships.
Some of the individual highlights include:
Swayzie Edge placed 3rd in total in the U13 63kg weight class. Swayzie brought home a bronze medal in snatch and a bronze medal in the total. Edge, a first-year lifter, finished the day 5/6 and secured Coffee’s first medals of the competition.
Reece Robinson was the national runner-up in the U17 63kg weight class. Reece was the National Champion in the clean and jerk with a 93 kg lift (205 pounds), bronze in the snatch, and silver in the total. Reece would have secured her first individual national championship had she made her final attempt on the clean and jerk of 95kg (211 pounds). Robinson was the 9th strongest lifter in all weight classes in the female 16-17 ageC division.
Kaiden McVeigh finished with a bronze medal in the total for the U17 60 kg weight class. Kaiden finished as the national runner-up in the snatch, making 86 kg (190 pounds) on his t third attempt. McVeigh also attempted to tie the American record clean and jerk but fell just short of the feat. McVeigh’s 3rd place finish was his highest finish at nationals to date and his first time making the medal stand.
Former Coffee standout lifter Micale Smith rounded out Coffee’s medal grab with two individual medals in the Junior (18-20 age group) 71kg weight class. Smith was the national champion in the snatch with a 104 kg (229 pound) final attempt. Micale finished the day as the bronze medalist in total for Coffee.
