Mr. Dennis Legran Hursey, age 76, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Dennis was born December 7, 1949, in Douglas, Georgia, to the late Dennis “Bud” Sears Hursey and the late Louise Rushing Hursey. He was an active member of Tanner Missionary Baptist Church where he was a dedicated leader of the church choir.
Dennis leaves behind his devoted wife of 25 years, Charlotte Byrd Hursey of Douglas, Georgia; a daughter, Kristi Hursey Greene (Michael) of Wray, Georgia; two stepsons: David Taylor (Candy) of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Scott Taylor (Christy) of Alma, Georgia; six grandchildren: Meagan Bennett (Tucker), Mallory Vining (Gabe), Will Taylor (Annalise), Alexandra Taylor, Nathan Taylor (Emily), and Madison Dubberly (Tyler); three great grandchildren: Truitt Dubberly, Rowan Taylor, and Summer Taylor; one brother, Art Hursey of Alachua, Florida; one sister, Veda Powers of Townville, South Carolina; along with a number of extended family members.
