A joint investigation between the Douglas-Coffee County Drug Unit and the Broxton Police Department resulted in the arrest of one individual on illegal drug distribution charges.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, on July 8, 2026, officers conducted an operation into the alleged distribution of illegal drugs at Ricketson Street and Railroad Street addresses in Broxton. While watching the homes, officers saw Jason Donald Voorhees, 44, of Broxton, approach a parked vehicle at the Ricketson Street address. The report says that Voorhees conducted himself in a manner “consistent with a hand-to-hand narcotics transaction.”
The officers approached the vehicle and spoke to Voorhees, who had gotten into the vehicle. Voorhees got out of the vehicle and officers saw a bag that contained suspected methamphetamine. There were also digital scales and another bag of suspected methamphetamine in the car.
Officers also searched Voorhees’s home and found more digital scales but no more illegal drugs. The amount of suspected methamphetamine they confiscated from the vehicle weighed 11.3 grams on non-certified scales, the report says.
Voorhees was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. He remains incarcerated in the Coffee County Jail.
