Around 6:45 p.m. on July 25, 2026, a deputy responded to the Enmarket store on Ocilla Road in reference to a person threatening another. The complainant met the officer there and said that his mother had threatened him at their home on West Walker Street.
According to an incident report from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, the complainant had a video recording of his mother threatening him. The report says that the phone was pointed towards the floor but there was audio of an argument.
In the video, the complainant’s mother, identified as Cora Bivens, 52, of Douglas, can be heard telling the complainant that she will knock him out. The complainant says to go ahead and do it, to which Bivens replies twice that she will.
The complainant said the argument was over him using the bathroom.
The officer went to the West Walker Street address and spoke to Bivens, who was outside doing yard work. She said the argument began over “him taking over her entire house and him being disrespectful.” She said the video that the complainant had was taken a month ago. However, another deputy who was with the complainant verified that the video was recent.
Bivens was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts. She was booked into the Coffee County Jail and released on a $1,000 bond.
