The Adult Education department of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC) is proud to announce that Taylor Stone of Coffee County, a Wiregrass Adult Education graduate, has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 GED Scholarship Award from GED Testing Service, a national recognition honoring individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, perseverance, and achievement in earning their GED credential.
As part of this honor, Taylor was recognized at the GED Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was one of five awardees invited to participate in the awards program and share her educational journey with conference attendees from across the country. The award included a $1,000 scholarship to support her post-secondary education, a new laptop, a gift card, and an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the conference.
“We could not be prouder of Taylor for earning this prestigious national scholarship,” said Kelly Peacock, WGTC Dean of Adult Education. “Taylor’s remarkable dedication, resilience, and determination serve as a powerful inspiration to our entire community, and we are confident that this achievement is just the beginning of a highly successful future.” Now a first-generation college student, Taylor is enrolled at WGTC and is completing prerequisite coursework with plans to enter the Radiologic Technology program.
The national scholarship is the latest in a series of honors for Stone, who was previously named Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s 2026 EAGLE Student of the Year, recognizing her exceptional achievement, perseverance, and commitment to education.
