Joyce Shrouder Taylor, age 81 of Broxton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday morning, August 5, 2026, at The Harbor View Nursing Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Joyce was born on October 28, 1944, to the late Sallie Mae Worth Shrouder and the James Loran Shrouder in Broxton, Georgia. She was married to the late James Edward Taylor for fifty years prior to his passing in 2021. She made her career as a bank teller and loan processer for Coffee County Bank where she worked for more than 30 years prior to her retirement. She later served the Coffee County Clerk of Court as Lien Clerk for 27 years. She was a loving aunt who enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting, and loved fishing. She also enjoyed going to the mountains during apple season and going to car shows. Along with her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Lurlyne Shrouder.
Joyce leaves behind a brother, James Loran Shrouder, Jr. and wife, Annelle, of Douglas, Georgia; four nieces and nephews: Debbie S. Myers and husband, Tony, of Douglas, Georgia, Darren Shrouder and wife, Sarah, of Douglas, Georgia, Jamey Shrouder of Greenville, South Carolina, and Laurie S. Roberts and husband, Justin, of Naylor, Georgia; nine great nieces and great nephews: Jennifer Thomas, Tyler Myers, Kayleigh Myers, Jaycee Thomas, Addy Roberts, Pierce Roberts, Ansley Reliford, Allison Harrell, and Parker Borland.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Joyce will be held on Saturday morning, August 8, 2026, at 10:30 AM in the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rodney Courson and Ethan Nettles officiating. Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband in their family plot. Her family will receive friends in the chapel beginning at 9:30 AM, for one hour prior to the funeral service.
Active pallbearers will include Eathan Nettles, Carl Reagan, Tony Hendrix, Billy Joe Shrouder, Chad Shrouder, and Jerrell Shrouder.
