Mrs. Nancy Diann Mobley Wilkerson, age 78, of Willacoochee, GA passed away Thursday morning, August 6, 2026, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA following a brief illness.
Mrs. Wilkerson, a native of Atkinson and Coffee County, was born December 15, 1947, to the late Willis Columbus Mobley and the late Vera Lucile Fussell Mobley. She was a loving wife and mother who supported her husband on their farm. Together they raised their five children and taught them the values of family, work, service, and the love of the Lord. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she spent many hours serving others. She also had a love for genealogy and performed many ordinances for her deceased ancestors in the holy temples. She was an excellent cook who found great enjoyment in cooking for her family, as well as crafting, singing, and for a time, substitute teaching in the Coffee County School System.
Mrs. Wilkerson was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Eugene Wilkerson; parents, Willis Columbus Mobley and Vera Lucile Fussell Mobley; stepfather, William “Bill” Elvis Hester; 2 brothers: Henry Woodrow Mobley and Darrell Kennth Mobley; and 1 sister, Wanda Lucile Mobley.
Survivors include three sons: Ricki Eugene (Ame) Wilkerson of Willacoochee, GA, Michael Lee (Marie) Wilkerson of Waycross, GA, and Neil Wesley (Kimberly) Wilkerson of Brunswick, GA; two daughters: Diann Renee (James) Elliott of Willacoochee, GA, and Leah Mobley Knowlton of Douglas, GA; ten grandchildren: Brandon Wilkerson (fiancé, Gianna Womelsdorf), Payton Wilkerson, Kaylen (Christian) Webb, Emma Wilkerson, Logan Elliott, Addison Wilkerson, Eli Wilkerson, Paige Wilkerson, Cody Elliott, and William Wilkerson; two sisters: Betty Ann Cooper of Valdosta, GA, and Brenda Kathleen Hester of Waycross, GA; three brothers: Willis Maurice (Janice) Mobley of Pearson, GA, Paul Wayne (Tammy) Hester of Waycross, GA, and Jerry Jerome (Rachael) Hester of Waycross, GA; a sister-in-law: Nancy Lou Nilsen of Gilbert, AZ; and Joyce Gerrell Hester, the wife of her stepfather; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Mrs. Wilkerson’s family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, August 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM in the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with President Ashley Woods presiding and Bishop Joah Fussell conducting. An opening prayer will be given by Paul Wayne Hester. A special eulogy will be given by her daughter, Renee Elliott, and a special talk will be given by her son, Neil Wilkerson. A closing prayer will be presented by Jerry Hester. Musical selections will include: opening hymn “I Stand All Amazed”, hymn #193, presented by the congregation led by Tammy Spell with Jessica Moore at the piano; “Oh Lord, My Redeemer” will be presented by her son, Michael Wilkerson with Jessica Moore at the piano; and closing hymn, “God Be With You Till We Meet Again”, hymn #152, will be rendered by the congregation, led by Tammy Spell, with Jessica Moore, at the piano. The Interment will follow in the Little Utah Cemetery, in Atkinson County, with the grave dedicatory prayer being given by her son, Ricki Wilkerson.
Active pallbearers will include Paul Wayne Hester, Jerry Hester, Brandon Wilkerson, Payton Wilkerson, Christian Webb, and Daniel Hester.
Honorary pallbearers will include Maurice Mobley, Tommy Cooper, Children and Grandchildren, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews and other family and friends, Hebron, Mora and Bridgetown Family and Friends.
