The City of Douglas encourages citizens to attend public meetings or consider joining a volunteer board.
Currently, the city has one vacancy on the Planning Commission. The volunteer should live in the city limits of Douglas. The Planning Commission is a joint city-county advisory that makes recommendations to the city commission regarding the Joint Coffee County-City of Douglas Comprehensive Plan, Unified Land Development Code, Zoning Map in the form of zoning and rezoning and annexations into the city as well as other duties.
