A deputy stopped a blue 2015 Hyundai Accent GLS on August 21, 2026, and discovered a large amount of suspected marijuana and THC vape products. The driver, Ahmed Mounir Ayoub, 30, of Woodstock, was arrested on multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent distribute.
The traffic stop took place at around 3:45 p.m. when the deputy clocked Ayoub going 67 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 441, according to an incident report from the sheriff’s office. When the deputy spoke with Ayoub, he could smell marijuana inside the vehicle.
Other officers arrived and they searched the vehicle. According to the report, Ayoub stated that there was marijuana in the trunk. When an officer looked in the trunk, he found two book bags. Inside the book bags were suspected marijuana in a vacuum sealed bag as well as a mason jar that contained suspected marijuana, THC cartridges and vapes, digital scales, and a vacuum sealing machine. Officers also found a box in the vehicle that contained over $5,000 in cash. The total amount of suspected marijuana totaled 532.6 grams (about 1.2 pounds).
Ayoub was arrested and charged with eight counts of possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance with intent to distribute and transported to the Coffee County Jail. He was released on a $5,500 property bond on one count and $3,000 property bonds for each of the other seven counts.
