Mr. Darrell Allen Branch, age 69, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones following a lengthy illness.
Darrell was born January 23, 1957, in Tallahassee, Florida, to the late Obie Lee Branch and the late Laura Beatrice Stanford Branch. He was married to the late Katherine Marie Griffin Branch for forty years prior to her passing in 2019. Carpentry was Darrell’s passion and he made a career of it working for numerous employers over the years. When not working, he could often be found cutting firewood, shooting pool, throwing darts, or dancing. He was a loving father and grandfather whose greatest joy was found in time spent with his family. Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Jean B. Thomas.
Darrell leaves behind his devoted companion and caregiver, Geneva Hester of Chula, Georgia; a daughter, Barbara Jean “B.J.” Griffin of Fitzgerald, Georgia; a step-daughter, Valarie Hulett and husband, Danny, of Fitzgerald, Georgia; nine grandchildren: Zach, Matt, Justin, Cody, Corey, Jalen, Katlyn, Kristina, and Hannah; twenty six great grandchildren; four brothers: Jesse Branch and wife, Linda, of Douglas, Georgia, Donnie Branch and wife, Kathy, of Ellenton, Georgia, Gary Branch and wife, Anne, of TyTy, Georgia, and Obie Branch and wife, Jennifer, of Nashville, Georgia; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In keeping with Darrell’s wishes, memorialization will be by cremation, and no services are scheduled at this time.
