Douglas Rotary Club was honored to induct Williams Institutional Foods Director of Operations Charles “Chip” Guinn as the newest Rotarian at the club’s September 10, 2026 meeting. Mr. Guinn was nominated by Rotary Club Secretary Mark Miller who extolled Mr. Guinn’s “servant leadership at Williams, Douglas First Methodist Church, and in the community.”
After the induction, Coffee High School Principal Van Allen introduced Coffee High head football coach Mike Coe who is now in his fifth year here after a successful coaching career at Madison, County, Fla., that was recognized in 2020 by his inclusion in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Coe emphasized that he and his fellow CHS coaches share a philosophy that athletics and other extracurricular activities offer opportunities to transform the lives of the youth they are entrusted to coach and advise. He shared examples of the personal growth and development that he had witnessed in his players. As a proud husband, father of two daughters, and a new grandfather, Coach Coe shared the importance of family and a balanced life. He spoke about his Christian faith and that came shining through for members and guests at the meeting.
Douglas Rotary is a service organization seeking to advance the service ideals of Rotary International by investing time and resources in programs for children and youth, community development, disease prevention, family support, environmental health, and leadership development. Rotary meets on Thursdays from noon to 1 pm at the South Georgia State College Alumni Hall in Douglas.
