A 32-year-old Douglas man was arrested and jailed after he allegedly misused 911 Thursday morning.
On the morning of September 10, 2026, deputies responded to a home in Town & Country Mobile Home Park on West Walker Street in reference to a possible theft. The complainant, Eric Sinclair Bivens, 32, of Douglas, allegedly called 911 and reported that a neighbor had stolen wood products from the residence.
When the first officer arrived, Bivens stated that he would not speak to police. After talking to others at the scene, deputies came to the conclusion that no theft had occurred. They left but Bivens called 911 again and asked that an officer return to the scene.
Deputies went back to Bivens’s residence but he again refused to answer any questions regarding the complaint. As such, Bivens was arrested and charged with unlawful conduct during 911 calls or otherwise contacts 911 and makes a false report. During transport and upon arrival at the jail, Bivens was allegedly uncooperative with officers. Despite his best efforts, Bivens was booked into the Coffee County Jail late Thursday morning and released on bond Friday morning.
