South Georgia State College used its British connection in the Hawks’ 6-0 win over the Central Georgia Tech Titans Monday in Macon. Olivia Benson (Essex, England) and Holly MacLaurin (Kent, England) were two of the six Hawks who scored against the Titans.
SGSC scored two first-half goals (Allie Hemmings, 17:00, and MacLaurin, 28:00) then followed with four more in the second half (Sophia Morillo, 62:00; Bailey Maroney, 81:00; Benson, 82:00; and Jayliyah Neff, 88:00). Madeleine Forschler, Maroney, and Morillo recorded assists as well.
The win kept SGSC’s undefeated conference record intact. The Hawks are 5-0 against Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association opponents and 5-1 overall.
The Hawks host the Gordon State Highlanders next Tuesday at 3 p.m. The second-place Highlanders are also 5-1 overall but are 4-1 in conference play.
