The 2026 college football season is underway and several Coffee High alumni are playing on teams at every level from NAIA to the Division I ranks. Here is how they’ve done so far this season.
Jaydon Vester, sophomore long snapper, Tennessee State: Played in Tennessee State’s 30-3 loss to Alabama A&M.
Maurice Turner, a redshirt senior running back with the Tulane University Green Wave: 3 carries for 1 yard in Tulane’s 28-24 win over South Alabama.
Tyrese Woodgett, sophomore running back at Georgia Southern: Recovering from a shoulder injury and will be sidelined for a few more weeks.
Jyarius Carter, sophomore linebacker at Mercer: 12 tackles (3 solo, 9 assisted), a pass breakup, and 2 quarterback hurries in the Bears’ 20-13 loss to Furman.
Anthony Paulk, redshirt sophomore defensive back at Charleston Southern: 2 tackles in the Buccaneers’ 26-20 double overtime win against The Citadel.
Jayden Hancock, sophomore defensive back, Charleston Southern: 2 tackles and a pass breakup in the Buccaneers’ 26-20 double overtime win against The Citadel.
David “Tug” Vaughn, redshirt sophomore kicker at West Alabama: Did not play in West Alabama’s 24-23 win over Pittsburgh State.
Kyler Smith, sophomore offensive lineman at Georgia Military College: Played in GMC’s 28-14 win over Navarro College.
Chris Reed, sophomore linebacker at Reinhardt University: Did not play in Reinhardt’s 33-7 loss to Southeastern.
Jackson Banks, junior defensive tackle, Concord University: Recorded 1 tackle in Concord’s 41-38 loss to Charleston on Thursday, September 17.
Tyriq Edwards, redshirt sophomore defensive back, Cumberland University: 4 tackles (3 solo, 1 assisted) in Cumberland’s 31-10 win over Ave Maria.
Kenyon Livingston, freshman cornerback, Point University: Grabbed his first collegiate interception in Point’s 28-14 loss to Faulkner.
KJ DeBruce, freshman running back, Savannah State: Has not played this season.
