Coffee County Health Department will host a walk-in flu vaccination clinic on Tuesday, October 13, at 1111 West Baker Highway from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. This event offers residents a safe, quick, and convenient way to protect themselves and their loved ones from the flu this season.
“Getting your flu shot is one of the best ways to keep yourself, your family, and your community healthy,” said Synita Mathis, Immunization Coordinator for the Southeast Health District.
A yearly flu vaccine is the first line of defense against the flu and is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for everyone age 6 months and older. Vaccination is especially important for certain high-risk groups, including young children, pregnant women, adults aged 65 and older, and individuals with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, or heart disease).
If you are unable to make the event on Tuesday, October 13, don’t worry! Immunizations are available every day as a walk-in service at all health departments within the district. Health department staff kindly ask that you bring a form of identification and your insurance card (if you have coverage) when you come to receive a flu vaccine.
