A Douglas man who was initially investigated for an alleged shoplifting incident at the In & Out Store on East Baker Highway was ultimately arrested on criminal trespass charges after Douglas police officers learned that he had been trespassed from the store last month.
A report from the police department states that around 7 p.m. on September 12, 2026, officers responded to the store regarding a shoplifting call. When officers arrived, they detained Willie Sims, 63, of Douglas, for allegedly shoplifting $35.76 worth of store merchandise. The store manager said she wanted to press charges.
Officers also learned that Sims had been trespassed from the store on August 4, 2026, by another DPD officer. Sims was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting and criminal trespass. He was released but arrested again on September 26 on criminal trespass charges. He remains in the Coffee County Jail.
