The Public Works/ESG Operations Department, along with Ryland Environmental, will host Fall Junk Free Week from Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 9, 2026. From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..
Residents within the Douglas city limits can bring large household items and other unwanted junk to 1101 Shirley Avenue — at the corner of Shirley and College Park Drive — for free disposal. Please note that tires and hazardous chemicals cannot be accepted. Items must be placed on a trailer or in a spot where the clam truck can easily reach them, as on-site staff will not be available to assist with unloading.
Participants should bring a copy of their utility bill as proof of residency. Don’t miss this great opportunity to clear out garages, attics, and storage spaces at no cost.
