A 52-year-old Douglas man remains in jail on host of charges related to suspected illegal drug dealing after officers and agents executed a search warrant at a Willow Street address last month.
According to a sheriff’s office report, between October 19 and October 21, drug unit agents investigated suspected marijuana distribution by Teyon Malik Herring, 52, of Douglas. During the investigation, officers confirmed that Herring was selling illegal drugs, the report states.
On October 21, officers executed a search warrant at Herring’s home. They found packaging materials, a vacuum sealer, cell phones, and cash. A search of a trash can on a neighboring property yielded a bag containing suspected controlled substances and related items. Herring was arrested and transported to the Coffee County Jail.
The report says that officers documented 1,313 grams of suspected marijuana and 22.5 grams of suspected cocaine.
Herring was charged with possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance with intent to distribute (two counts), possession/manufacture/distribution of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school (two counts), and possession/manufacture/distribution of a controlled substance near a park or housing project (four counts). He has not been released.
