Mrs. Betty Jean Harper Kirkland, age 83 of Douglas, passed away late Tuesday night, January 9, 2024 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Kirkland was born October 12, 1940 to the late John Quincey Harper and the late Frances Beckworth Harper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Lewis Kirkland.

Survivors include:

3 Children: Daniel Steven (Kelly) Kirkland of Douglas, GA
Timothy Todd Kirkland of Tifton, GA
Jana Paige (Jason) Troupe of Douglas, GA
2 Brothers: Daniel Nathaniel Goff of Douglas, GA
John Robert Harper of Douglas, GA
6 Grandchildren: Misty (Brent) Nash of Douglas, GA
Kaycee (Frank) Foster of Douglas, GA
Kristy Kirkland of Tifton, GA
Molly Kirkland of Tifton, GA
Amber (Josh) Dorminey of Douglas, GA
Reagan Young of Douglas, GA
Numerous Great Grandchildren
Several Nieces, Nephews, Extended Family and Friends

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Austin Medders officiating. The interment will follow in Douglas City Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Brent Nash, Jason Troupe, Josh Dorminey, Frank Foster, Ryan Troupe, and Michael Brown.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
