Myrna Joan Jewell, age 80, of Douglas GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at her residence in Douglas, GA. She was born on March 2, 1943 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Waldron.

Her survivors include: Three Sons; Rodney Neal (Pamela)Peterson of Douglas, GA, Isom Craig Jewell of Douglas, GA, and Merrill Travis Jewell of Douglas, GA, Three Brothers; Jerry (Toya) Waldron, Gene (Naomi) Waldron, and Bill (Wanda) Waldron, Twelve Grandchildren; Savannah (Raul) Torres, Kirk Peterson, Kollin (Amber) Peterson, Braxton (Carrie Ann) Jewell, M.J. (Roy) Swann, Clayson (Shawnda) Jewell, Dean (Kelly) Jewell, Kayli (Dawson) Stone, Myrna Deign Jewell, Anslee (Chance) Collins, and Asher Jewell, Eighteen Great-Grandchildren, along with several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by; Her beloved Husband; Merrell Clayson Jewell, One Son; Rexford Allen Peterson, Two Sisters; Maxine Stokes, and Madeline Joiner, Grandson; John Harvey Jewell, Father; Alfred Waldron and Mother; Ruby Jewell Waldron, and one brother, Richard “Sonny” Delesile Waldron.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22nd, 2024 at 2:00PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Douglas, GA, with President Ashley Woods, Brother Jerry Waldron and Bishop Matt Smith officiating.

Active Pallbearers will include; Rodney Peterson, Craig Jewell, Travis Jewell, Clayson Jewell, Dean Jewell, Asher Jewell, Braxton Jewell, Kirk Peterson, and Kollin Peterson.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
