James Minix, age 93, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday February 4, 2024 at Vista Park Health and Rehabilitation in Douglas, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Minix was born on May 16, 1930 to the late Monroe and Nancy Grantham Minix.

Survivors include: Two Daughters; Patricia (David) Spivey of Douglas, GA, Teresa Ann (Tim) Vaughn of Douglas, GA, Eight Grandchildren; Dawn (Keith) Moore, Amber (Charlie) Purcell, Brittany (Rick) Disharoon, Patrick (Haylee) Spivey, Jamie (Marti) Vaughn, Courtney (Michael) Vickers, Zackery (Kayla) Vaughn, Hope Vaughn, 21 Great Grandchildren, Three Great Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Mr. Minix was preceded in death by; His Wife; Merline Batten Minix, Six Brothers and Sisters; Virgil Minix, Jack Minix, Jessie Minix, Albert Minix, Agnes Harrell, and Opal Anderson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 2:00PM until 3:00PM, at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 3:00PM, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Griffis and Rev. Leroy Spivey officiating. The interment will follow at Royals Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be: Zackary Vaughn, J.T. Vaughn, Jamie Vaughn, Patrick Spivey, Mathew Moore, and Lane Deen.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
