William Edwin Youngblood, age 71 of Douglas, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton following an extended illness. Mr. Youngblood was born on May 18, 1943, in Pearson to the late Henry Edison Youngblood and Blannie Metts Youngblood.

Survivors include his wife, Winnett Miller Youngblood of Douglas; son, Anthony “Monk” (Cindy) Youngblood of Ambrose; three grandchildren, Michael Youngblood, Ray Youngblood, and Clay (Breanna) Youngblood all of Ambrose, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2014, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Matt Rutland and Sim Youngblood officiating. Interment will follow at Royals Church Cemetery. Music was furnished for the service by Rev. Matt Rutland, “Beulah Land” and “Anchor Holds,” with Tommy Harrell playing the organ. Active pallbearers are Michael Youngblood, Ray Youngblood, Clay Youngblood, Noah Mancil, Michael Berry, Don Hamilton, Van Vickers, and Jim Miller. Honorary Pallbearers are Curtis and Glenda Roberson, Dave and Kathy Roberson, Sammy and Donna Snipes, W.P. Chaney, Irma James, Helen Stoval, Anthony Deal, Harvey Vincent, Russell Durden, Aubrey and Sanda Batten, and Men’s Christian Fellowship of Pearson.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
