Paul Samuel Youngblood, age 78, of Douglas, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Youngblood was born June 29, 1936, in Douglas. He is the son of Maude Carter Youngblood and the late Lunzie Paul Youngblood.

Survivors include his mother, Maude Carter Youngblood of Waycross; three sons, David Lewis (Shirley) Youngblood, Samuel Paul (Misty) Youngblood, and Michael Eugene Youngblood all of Douglas; three daughters, Brenda (Rev. Lee) Moore of Douglas, Tina Rish of Rockmart, and Angela Youngblood of Douglas; eighteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, numerous great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Carolyn Hutchison, Eunice Hutchison, and Jeanette Youngblood.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Harvest Time Church of God, with Rev. Levi Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Chatterton Church Cemetery. Music is furnished for the service by CD, “You’re Invited To My Mansion”, “The Light House,” and “In The Garden,” with Steve Watkins playing the piano.

Active pallbearers are Kendell Youngblood, Christopher Youngblood, Steven Moore, Johnny Moore, Matthew Moore, and Dillon Gray.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
