Myrtice Herrin Thomas, age 91 of Eastman, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Thomas was born August 30, 1922, in Nicholls to the late Dewey Herrin and Mary Frances Carver Herrin.

Survivors include her daughters, Rita (Lamar) Sanders of Eastman; two sons, William Bernard (Audrey) Thomas of Douglas and Rev. Sidney V. (Annette) Thomas of Nicholls; sister, Mary Brigmond of Warner Robins; fifteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Thomas; two sons, Clinton and Roger Thomas; and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 27, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Hope Holiness Church, with Rev. Benji Capps and Rev. Douglas Holder officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery. Music is furnished for the service by Darwin Lee, “Mama Is Queen Without A Crown,” and congregation, “Amazing Grace,” with Darwin Lee playing the piano.

Active pallbearers are Brandon Sheffield, Scotty Thomas, Travis Thomas, Shafton Thomas, Rhett Thomas, and Kenneth Crews. All attendees of the service are honorary pallbearers.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
