Mr. J. W. “Pete” Phillips, age 88 of Douglas, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 3, 2014, at the Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Douglas following an extended illness. Mr. Phillips was born August 13, 1925, to the late Johnny Washington Phillips and the late Sallie Graham Phillips.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Phillips and Judy (Keith) Walker, both of Douglas and Patricia (George) Kitchens of Bryson City, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Graveside Services will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrell Grove Cemetery.
