The City of Douglas will host Satilla REMC’s 77th Annual meeting on Oct. 7 in downtown Douglas at Central Square Complex from 10 am-2 pm. This annual meeting will bring approximately 2,000 visitors to town.

City officials have worked with the Satilla management team to develop plans to help with traffic and the pedestrian flow downtown. As always with any large event, officials are asking citizens to be patient and know that there will be some parking challenges with this large meeting in downtown. Extra public safety will be in place to help with these challenges.

“We are asking that citizens be prepared for the heavy traffic and to be more cautious as they make their way through the downtown area on Tuesday,” says Mayor James Dennis. “We need to display our best hospitality and make sure we welcome these visitors to our town.”

Created in 1937, the Satilla Rural Electric Membership Corporation provides electrical services to rural residents and corporations in nine counties of Georgia.
