Downtown Holiday Open House will be held in downtown Douglas on Sunday, November 23, 2014.

Holiday Open House is celebrated each year on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving and gives shoppers an early glimpse of what to expect in home decorations and accents for the holidays, as well as an opportunity to preview wonderful gift selections.

“Many merchants have participated for the past 21 years by opening their doors on this particular Sunday for shoppers and browsers to stop by to enjoy holiday music and refreshments,” says Pattie Merritt, Main Street Coordinator.

Exhibitors will be located on the sidewalk of North Peterson Avenue adjacent to the public parking lot. Some exhibitors participating are part of the Georgia initiatives “Georgia Made, Georgia Grown” or “Eat Fresh, Eat Local.”

The Coffee High School Drama Club will be providing Christmas arts & crafts and other activities at Atkinson Plaza for a small fee. The Coffee County Historical Society will host Heritage Station Museum’s open house from 1 to 5 p.m. at the museum located at 219 W. Ward Street. Coffee Alliance for the Arts will present “The Littlest Angel” at the Martin Centre at 4p.m.

For more information about the Littlest Angel, please call (912)592-2229. For information about the museum’s open house, please call (912) 389-3461. For more information about Downtown Holiday Open House, please contact the City of Douglas Main Street office at (912) 384-5161 or email pmerritt@cityofdouglas.com.
