On a Saturday afternoon that featured six players in double digits, the South Georgia State College Hawks rolled to their third straight win, defeating Summer Hill Post Graduate Academy, 127-54.

Jovante’ Spivey was the leading scorer for the Hawks (3-0) with 22 points, five rebounds, and six assists.  Tyrone Sam had 17 points, five rebounds, two assists, and three steals, and Tyler Miller finished with 12 points.  The other double digit scorers were Cody Helgeland with 11 points and Russell Keyhea and Dunavon Robinson with 10 points each.

Daniel Peace finished with 10 assists in the game, and DeAundrey Rhett grabbed a total of 14 rebounds.

The Hawks quickly built a 24-3 lead in the opening minutes and never looked back.  The team shot 58 percent from the field, forced 28 turnovers, and outrebounded Summer Hill, 64-21.

“This was another complete game for us.  Everybody scored, and we were able to get our freshmen some good playing time,” said head coach Cory Baldwin.  “That will help us as we get ready for the Okefenokee College Classic next weekend.”

The Hawks continue their current homestand Tuesday night against Faith Baptist Prep Academy.  Tip for the game is set for 7 p.m.

SGSC will host the Applebee’s Okefenokee College Classic next Friday and Saturday, featuring SGSC, Daytona Basketball Academy, South Georgia Tech, and Tallahassee Community College.  The Hawks are scheduled to play Daytona Basketball Academy at 8 p.m. Friday night and Tallahassee Community College at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

General admission to all regular season home games is five dollars with children five and under admitted free.
