Authorities with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office are reporting the recovery of a golf cart in Tift County that was reported stolen from a Coffee County residence earlier this month.

On November 7, at approximately 5:40 p.m., a Coffee County deputy was dispatched to 3406 Fitzgerald Hwy. in Broxton , in reference to a theft of a golf cart. The complainant advised the golf cart was on a trailer parked next to her house when she left the residence around 7 a.m. on this date. The complainant further stated that when she returned home around 5:30 p.m., she discovered the golf cart and trailer were missing. The trailer was later recovered in Ben Hill County.

On November 17, a detective with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office was notified about a possible location of the golf cart in Tifton. The detective made contact with a Tift County detective and asked if he could check the location and area to see if he could locate the golf cart. The Tift County detective then went to the area and, because of his previous knowledge of persons in this area, was able to make contact with a person who had the golf cart.

The golf cart was recovered and then taken to the Tift County Sheriffs Office. The detective that had been assigned the case was then notified and responded to the Tift County Sheriff’s Office to recover the golf cart so it could be returned to the owner and further investigation and information could be obtained to determine who had taken the golf cart from the victim’s residence.
Coffee County investigators want to thank the public for providing information and also the Tift County Sheriff’s Office investigators for their help in locating and recovering the golf cart.

This investigation continues and sheriff’s officials are asking anyone who may have more  information regarding this case to contact Detective Fred Cole or C.I.D. investigators at the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
