Mr. James Ronald Merritt, age 65, of Ambrose passed away Friday morning, November 28, 2014, at the Regency Hospital in Macon, following a short illness. He was born May 25, 1949 to the late Jim Merritt and the late Marjorie Vickers Merritt.

Mr. Merritt, a native of Coffee County, was a Purchasing Manager in the Mobile Home Industry. He was an avid Fisherman and Golfer. He enjoyed his family and church friends. He was an Assistant Scout Master, and member of the Order of The Arrow. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Travis Smith. Mr. Merritt was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include: His Wife: Linda Logue Merritt of Ambrose, Ga. 1 Son: Greg (Cookie) Merritt of Ambrose, Ga.; 1 Daughter: Pebbles (Duane) Pittman of Cochran, Ga.; 1 Sister: Geraldine (Gordon) Smith of Nicholls, Ga.; 5 Grandchildren: Candice Merritt, Jamie Merritt, Christopher Merritt, all of Ambrose, Ga., and Meagan Pittman, and Logan Pittman, both of Cochran, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.

Funeral Services were held Sunday, November 30, 2014, at 3:00 P. M., at the Westwood Baptist Church, with Mr. Duane Pittman and Rev. George C. Paulk officiating. Special Eulogies were given by the daughter, Pebbles Pittman, and the son, Greg Merritt. The Interment followed in the Westwood Cemetery, with a closing prayer by Bro. Eddie Cady. Active Pallbearers were: Van Vickers, Craig Vickers, Wayne Vickers, Michael Vickers, David Vickers, and Ashley Spivey. Special Musical Selections, “I Surrender All”, and “How Great Thou Art”, were presented as Congregational Hymns, led by Lamar Sutton and the Westwood Baptist Church Choir, with Mrs. Bernie Evans, at the Organ. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by the Organist, Mrs. Bernie Evans.

The family wishes to give Special Thanks to the Atkinson County Visiting Nurses and their staff.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.

    You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
