Lamar Morgan, age 57, of Douglas, GA passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014, at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Morgan was born on October 29, 1957, in Douglas, GA to Billy Henley Morgan and Wilma Spell Morgan.

Survivors include: his parents, Bill and Jackie Morgan of Douglas, GA; three daughters, Marla Hursey, Abby (Michael) Carver, and Katelyn (Dustin) Able all of Douglas, GA; sister, Gail (Wendell) Grantham of Douglas, GA; three brothers, David (Carol) Morgan of West Green, GA, Timmy (Pam) Morgan of Douglas, GA, and Terry (Tamara) Morgan of Douglas, GA; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. at Douglas Christian Fellowship Church. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Douglas Christian Fellowship with Rev. Leroy Spivey, Rev. John Carver, and Rev. Marshall Adcock officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery. Music is furnished for the service by Derick Soles “Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone”, and Danny Chaney “Knowing What I Know” and “One Blessed Man” with Bonnie Musgrove playing the piano. Active Pallbearers are: Buck Wiggins, Ronnie Wiggins, Lane Bailey, John Bailey, Mike Davis, Tommy Bailey, Lee Tussinger, and Chuck Tussinger. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jerry Jowers, Chris Jowers, Raymond Nipper, Bob Davison, Billy Joe Peacock, and Bethany Hospice Nurses.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
