A Douglas man was arrested and jailed last week after officials say he discharged a firearm during a heated domestic incident.

Officers were dispatched to E. Gordn St. in reference to a report of gunshots in the area last Monday just after midnight.

Before officers arrived on scene, they received another report of two individuals engaged in an argument at 228 E. Gordon, and that a male subject had fired a weapon.

After a brief investigation, authoritites arrested 29-year-old Radames Serrano, Jr., charging him with one count of second degree cruelty to children and one count of reckless conduct.

In Georgia, second-degree cruelty to children is a felony defined as “criminal negligence that causes cruel or excessive mental or physical pain.” It carries a sentence one one to 10 years.
