Mr. Eugene “Gene” Woods, age 74, of Douglas passed away early Wednesday morning, March 18, 2015, at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born March 8, 1941 to the late Jesse Woods and the late Stella Mizell Hutchison Woods.

Survivors include: His Wife: Peggy Walker Woods of Douglas, Ga.; Children: Debra W. (Ashley) Gillis of Axson, Ga., Renee Deen and Kelly W. Ray, both of Douglas, Ga., and Richard Lott of Douglasville, Ga.; 1 Brother: Osborn Woods of Phoenix City, Alabama.; Grandchildren: Vonda (Jay) Crosby of Douglas, Ga., Chris (Nicole) Woods of St. Mary’s, Ga., Logan (Ashleigh) Gillis of Douglas, Ga., Colbey Joyce of Jacksonville, Fla., Jessi Gillis, Matthew Deen, Jeremy Deen, Abrianna Lott, Seth Ray, Ansley Lott, Ryan Ray, Bradley Lott, and Bailey Lott, all of Douglas, Ga.; Great Grandchildren: Tyson Crosby, Addison Deen, Layla Crosby, Bella Crosby, all of Douglas, Ga., Noah Joyce of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lyric Woods of St. Mary’s, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.

Funeral Services will be Friday, March 20, 2015, at 11:00 A. M., at the West Ward Street Church of God, with Rev. Britt Peavy and Rev. Marty Wilkes officiating. The Interment will follow in the Chatterton Grove Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 P. M., at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements.
