Area realtors honored at annual banquet

Local Realtors were recently honored during the annual Douglas/Coffee County Board of Realtors Awards Banquet. The annual event was held at J&D Café in Downtown Douglas. Jerome Adams, local attorney, sponsored the event.

Doretha Jenkins, Board President and realtor at Remax Real Estate Executives, presented the first award to Marsha Hines for being the former president of the group. Mrs. Hines, broker at Premium Properties, was also named Realtor of the Year for 2014.

Sherry Joyce, Apex Realty, was named Rookie of the Year. Mrs. Joyce was nominated by peers and voted on by the awards committee for outstanding work during her first year as a licensed realtor.

Glynn Purvis, Apex Realty, received the Good Neighbor Award for his involvement, contributions and devotion to our community.

Nine Realtors received Silver Circle of Excellence awards for achieving $1,000,000 or more in sales during 2014. This year’s winners were Doretha Jenkins, Remax Real Estate Specialists; Rebecca Underwood, Coldwell Banker; Marie Harrell, Century 21; Regan Tanner, Realty South; Jane Carver, Remax Real Estate Executives; Denise Lott, Century 21; Celia Purvis, Apex Realty; Jim Minchew, Coldwell Banker; and, Sherry Joyce, Apex Realty.

Susan Brooker, Remax Real Estate Executives, received the Gold Circle of Excellence award for sales from $2-$3 million during 2014.

Two realtors received Platinum Circle of Excellence awards for sales over $3 millions in 2014. They were Benny Dockery, EagleMark Properties, and Bruce Brewer, Century 21.

Marsha Hines, Premium Properties, was named the 2014 Realtor of the Year during the Douglas/Coffee County Board of Realtors annual Awards Banquet.
