Mrs. Vivian Smith Taylor, age 77, of Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Taylor was born on December 19, 1937 in Nicholls, GA. to the late James William Smith and the late Alma Lee Youngblood Smith.
She is survived by her three daughters: Suzette Ludwig, Beverly Thomas and Buffy Waters all of Douglas, GA; three sisters: Audrey (Bernard) Thomas of Douglas, GA; Marcia (Jeff) Cooper of Cherry Lake, FL; Cynthia (Randy) Pearce of Baxley, GA; four brothers: Dewain (Patsy) Smith of Hot Springs, NC; Larry (Iris) Smith of Leicester, NC; Clavis(Jane) Smith of Mims, FL; and Lowell (Trish) Smith of Hilliard, FL; six grandchildren: Jason (Carol) O’Steen of Douglas, GA, Christy (Craig) Spikes and Greg Parlor all of Hazlehurst, GA; Leondra Carmichael of Rock Hill , SC; Kendra Thomas of Douglas, GA and Ashton Gibson (Kimberly White) of Nicholls, GA; fourteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson: Dustin Nettles, Brother: Garland Smith, and Companion: Clements Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor attended Douglas Christian Fellowship Church, she was employed with Goldkist 37 years, Wal-Mart 12 years and State of Georgia 11 years.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Sims Funeral Home from 6 PM to 9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Douglas Christian Fellowlship Church with the Rev. Leroy Spivey Officiating. Interment will follow at Tanner Baptist Church Cemetery.
