A.M. “Doc” Vickers, age 95, of Douglas, GA passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Vickers was born on September 28, 1919, in Ambrose, GA to the late Archie Vickers and Minnie Lee Smith Vickers.

Survivors include: his wife, Clara Alice Brigmond of Douglas, GA; son, Dan Moorman Vickers of Douglas, GA; daughter, Tina (Mark) Justice of Ambrose, GA; four grandchildren, Brent Vickers, Ryan Vickers, Kim (James) Graham, and Jennifer (Mitchell) Leavens; eight great grandchildren, Rilee Vickers, William Vickers, Laney Vickers, Michael Bennett, Jessica Graham, Dylan Vickers, Anna Leavens, and Jared Leavens; one great great granddaughter, Paisley Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 25, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Leroy Spivey and Rev. Tommy Green officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
