Mrs. Marie Cartwright Roberts, age 75, of Douglas passed away Monday afternoon, June 8, 2015, at her residence, following an extended illness. She was born March 28, 1940 to the late J. W. Cartwright and the late Bessie Marie Mims Cartwright.
Survivors include: Her Husband: Gordon Sears Roberts of Douglas, Ga.; Children: Ricky (Nan) Roberts , and Glen Roberts, all of Douglas, Ga., and Lisa (Jeff) Mercer of Keysville, Ga.; 1 Sister: Marguerite (Jewell) Miles of Hazlehurst, Ga.; Grandchildren: Cheryl (Chip) Nix of Bainbridge, Ga. , Brandon (Taylor) Sims of Douglas, Ga., Dustin Taylor of Ft. Stewart, Ga., Hallie Bell of Bremerton, Washington ,Erica Solomon of Jackson, South Carolina, and Mike Mercer of Alpharetta, Ga. 4 Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 11, 2015,at 2:00 P. M., at the Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Wes Brown officiating. The Interment will follow in the Central Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M., at Ricketson Funeral Home.
