A deputy arrested a Douglas man on several charges, including aggravated assault, following an alleged domestic incident on Sand Dollar Road. According to an incident report from the sheriff’s office, the argument started over a Black & Mild.
The report says that the suspect, identified as Denzel Reshey Green, 31, and the complainant started arguing because the complainant had asked him to buy her a Black & Mild on his way home. When he got home, she asked him about the Black & Mild and he became angry, the report says.
From there, the argument escalated into an altercation. The report says that Green pushed her into a dresser, hit her with his fist multiple times, and choked her while she was on the ground. The report states that the responding officer observed marks on the complainant’s neck consistent with what she described.
Green had been detained leaving the location in a red Mustang. The report says he denied the argument turned physical. But he also told deputies to “Just do what y’all gotta do,” according to the report.
Green was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, battery, and four counts of cruelty to children – 3rd degree. He was booked into the Coffee County Jail and has since been released.
