Cane Carver, a 15-year-old freshman from the Coffee High School golf team, is heading to the GHSA 5A Boys State Golf Championship this weekend. According to Cane’s mom, Susan Carver, this is the first time in at least 7 years that a freshman has qualified for the state tournament. In order to qualify for the state golf championship, the Coffee High School golf team competed at Sectionals at the Okefenokee Country Club in Waycross, Ga. this past week. Cane shot a 69, was low medalist, and landed himself the third best scoring average in the region. …

For more than 60 years, the Satilla Regional Library System has provided an abundance of information services and programs to the local communities of Coffee and Atkinson counties. The Satilla Regional Library System is made up of six libraries between the two counties: Douglas-Coffee County Public Library, Ambrose Public Library, Broxton-Charles Ingram Public Library, Nicholls Public Library, Pearson Public Library, and Willacoochee Public Library. The Douglas-Coffee County Library is the headquarters library, with around 75% of the system’s total usage. There are a number of places to visit through the library system.
