I’ll be honest, I’m sitting here mulling over what I want to write today and I’m drawing a BLANK! Ever been there before? Or what if you want to say something and the words just come out completely, like, stupid or “Oh, my goodness, that was the wrong thing to say”! I know we have all been there before. I guess I’ll blame it on Covid brain fog or just have too much going on that I can’t concentrate. I do want to enlighten you about an event that happened here at the radio station this week. DouglasNow…
I don’t know how or why but the weeks fly by faster and faster. I’ve always been told, “The older you get, the faster time goes by.” Well, there’s truth in that statement. Do you remember when you were a young teenager and it seemed like forever till you reached 16 and could get your driver’s license? And then it was 18 so you could be legal? (that tells my age)I am always going to slow down, enjoy and appreciate all the time I get to spend with my children, grandchildren and family. My intentions are sincere and I maybe…
I’m sorry for the delay in posting recipes these past few weeks. I had the pleasure of “crystals” in my right ear being misplaced. Unfortunately, I tripped over a rug in the floor as I was hurriedly doing some housekeeping and the next morning after the fall, the room was spinning like crazy! After several days of not recovering, I saw the doctor and found out my condition. I did not know I had crystals! It took several weeks to get better after some physical therapy. Then a couple weeks after that, I had the pleasure of another Covid attack!…

It was a pleasure to visit one of our local restaurants in Downtown Douglas this week, Fireside Pizza Shop. The owners are Daryl and Bobbie Clark and they have been involved in the restaurant business in many ways over the past decade. Their menu contains pizza, sandwiches, salads, wings and much more. Catering is also available and Daryl would even be your Private Chef for any social event you may have coming up. Come and enjoy “Karaoke” on Thursday nights and sing your heart out while enjoying delicious food! Fireside Pizza Shop offers daily specials. Tuesday is Civil Servant discounts,…
I attended a wedding recently and it was great to see two young adults committing their lives to each other and to witness the excitement I could visualize in their sparkling eyes! Awe, so “in love”! I have alway enjoyed the food at social events. Don’t get me wrong, I love a whole-deal meal but sometimes small bites are just all I need. I love trying new appetizers and especially admiring all the new twists you see at fancy wedding venues. I was going to use the fancy word “hors d’oeuvres” but I had to Google to get the correct…
Good gracious, I’m amazed at the support I’ve received from my viewers on Douglasnow.com and Facebook and I’m very grateful. When you do what you love, it’s easier to do than most tasks. I looked today and just realized I had not posted any recipes since April 1. How can that be? Time surely gets away from me quickly. Spring has been beautiful but I can feel the heat coming on quickly. I enjoy getting out and planting flowers, herbs and such but I don’t have much of a yard right now to work in. We moved into my in-law’s…
Welcome to my page “At Home with Pam.” I had an opportunity to visit and record a video in the location of “Sweet Magnolia’s Children’s Shop” here in Douglas, Georgia, and to announce them to be our first “Business of the Month” for April. Wendy Russ, the owner, opened the store in November of 2023. Sweet Magnolias offers clothing for both girls and boys that range from sizes newborn to 12, along with shoes, accessories, and toys. Wendy states: “We pride ourselves on having fashionable, high quality clothing but with affordable prices.” A play area is even available for…

It is owned by Kayla Sellers. Kayla and her family have been in business here in Douglas since 2009 and are located at 231 S. Peterson Avenue in the Downtown area. They serve a variety of foods from sandwiches, salads, sides, desserts and the list goes on and on. Tip Top offers…
Easter was a busy weekend, to say the least! Coloring eggs, hiding eggs, wagon ride, cooking, eating and more eating! I feel like a stuffed pig! I had all intentions of starting a diet today but I’m backing out already and it’s just Monday afternoon! I love to eat good food because it’s just GOOD! That’s what we do in the South. My newest and most intimidating adventure will be producing a video for a local “Restaurant of the Month” and “Business of the month” for April. Seeing myself on camera and hearing my slang voice could be scary!…
