This time of year there are many churches involved in Vacation Bible School. It is such a precious memory of mine of VBS when I was a young child. I remember the crafts, which were much different than what kids have today. I remember putting nails in a wooden board and wrapping the nails with string to make a design or a wooden board and placing dried beans and peas in a traced area to make it look like a rooster. I kept my rooster for years until the bugs found it. Also, we used decoupage! I know some of…
“Oh So Good Gelato & Artisan Desserts” has been named our Restaurant of the Month by “At Home With Pam.” Although it’s not a full-meal restaurant, we are honored to feature the tasty treats they offer. Olivia and her husband opened the business one year ago and are pleased to be able to bring their passion for gelato and desserts to our Downtown. They offer many different flavors of Gelato from pineapple to popcorn (sweet & salty)! I actually got to sample the popcorn and I loved it! You can have your gelato in a waffle bowl or in a…
Congratulations to “And Sew She Did” Quilt Shop located at 108 Peterson Avenue in Douglas, GA as our Business of the Month for “At Home With Pam.” Kayla Sellers began her love for sewing at a very young age. She moved to her current location in 2020 in Downtown Douglas. “And Sew She Did” offers many opportunities to begin a passion for quilting by…
I’ll be honest, I’m sitting here mulling over what I want to write today and I’m drawing a BLANK! Ever been there before? Or what if you want to say something and the words just come out completely, like, stupid or “Oh, my goodness, that was the wrong thing to say”! I know we have all been there before. I guess I’ll blame it on Covid brain fog or just have too much going on that I can’t concentrate. I do want to enlighten you about an event that happened here at the radio station this week. DouglasNow…
I don’t know how or why but the weeks fly by faster and faster. I’ve always been told, “The older you get, the faster time goes by.” Well, there’s truth in that statement. Do you remember when you were a young teenager and it seemed like forever till you reached 16 and could get your driver’s license? And then it was 18 so you could be legal? (that tells my age)I am always going to slow down, enjoy and appreciate all the time I get to spend with my children, grandchildren and family. My intentions are sincere and I maybe…
I’m sorry for the delay in posting recipes these past few weeks. I had the pleasure of “crystals” in my right ear being misplaced. Unfortunately, I tripped over a rug in the floor as I was hurriedly doing some housekeeping and the next morning after the fall, the room was spinning like crazy! After several days of not recovering, I saw the doctor and found out my condition. I did not know I had crystals! It took several weeks to get better after some physical therapy. Then a couple weeks after that, I had the pleasure of another Covid attack!…
