Not long after an alcohol-fueled brawl broke out in downtown Douglas along the sidewalks of North Peterson Avenue, another calamity took place, this one in Baymeadows. March hasn’t been a good month for Harry Jonathan Dotson, 48. He has been arrested at least three times this month, including twice on consecutive days. His most recent arrest came on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. On March 10, DouglasNow reported that Dotson had been arrested on March 3 and March 4. He was charged with public intoxication both times. Devonte Delon Clark, 28, of a McRae address, has been arrested and charged with financial transaction card fraud after he allegedly took money from someone else’s bank account and also opened up a CareCredit account in the complainant’s name without authorization. According to a report from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, the complainant spoke to a deputy and stated that he believed that Clark had taken $60 from his account without authorization. The complainant said that Clark has lived in his house “off and on” because of a relationship the complaint has with Clark’s mother. The…

On March 14, detectives from the Coffee County Drug Unit acted on a tip that led them to suspected methamphetamine along with scales and packaging material. As a result, the officers arrested Sheila Dunn, 49, and charged her with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Dunn was on probation and had an active Fourth Amendment waiver, according to an incident report from the drug unit. Next week, Kendrick Mizell, 29, is set to stand trial for the murder of Antravious Johnson, 22. Johnson was killed on Feb. 28, 2021, at the 900 block of South Gaskin Avenue in Douglas. Authorities allege that Johnson was sitting in the driver’s side of a vehicle on South Gaskin Avenue when Mizell walked up to the vehicle and began shooting. Johnson was hit in the head, back, and hand. Mizell was identified as a suspect almost immediately following Johnson’s death.
