Joey Anderson and David Spivey, both of whom were charged with embracery and jailed in connection with Justin Anderson’s November trial on murder, aggravated assault, making false statements to police, and tampering with evidence charges in connection with the January 1, 2020, death of Vann Brown, have been released on $50,000 bond. Sunday night, officers from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and Coffee County EMA fished a brand new Kia out of Cat Creek on Highway 64 near Wilsonville. A crew in an ambulance transport was traveling on Highway 64 Sunday night when, as they crossed over the creek, noticed a car floating in the water. The alleged incidents occurred in 2018 and involved two children, neither of whom were Johnson’s. He was arrested on Sept. 27, 2018 and remained in jail until being released on bond in his first bond hearing, which took place on Oct. 16, 2018. He was released on a $15,000 and had remained free ever since. The state did not have a very compelling case and lacked physical evidence. Range Robinson, a junior weightlifter at Coffee High School, finished 15th in the world at the 2023 International Weightlifting Federation World Championships in Durres, Albania, on Wednesday. Robinson made three out of six attempts for a total of 278.3 kilograms (557 pounds). He hit two out of three attempts on the snatch, successfully making 106 kilograms (233 pounds) and 110 kilograms (242 pounds).
